We are an authorized dealer and distributor of Mircom Intelligent Building and Life Safety Equipment. All services are performed by our Master/Journeyman Electricians, Journeyman Sprinkler Fitters and other Certified Technicians.

A fire alarm system is the core of a building’s fire protection system. It is the most effective method of warning people of a fire emergency and facilitating the safe and careful evacuation of everyone from the building.
The main components of a fire alarm system include initiating devices, signalling devices, wiring and a main control panel.

Annual, Semi Annual, Quarterly, Monthly and Weekly Testing requirements are listed in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards and the ULC Standard CAN/ULC S536

Fire Sprinkler systems:
Routine testing and maintenance is required to keep your sprinkler system in good working condition.
• Perform main drain test
• Record static and residual water pressures
• Test waterflow switches
• Test all valve tamper switches
• Exercise control valves
• Visually inspect the system for painted, covered or corroded sprinkler heads
• Inspect sprinkler system piping
• Inspect fire department connections
• Test and inspect dry and antifreeze systems
• Test and inspect fire sprinkler backflow prevention devices.

Fire extinguishers are required to be checked monthly by in house personnel and annually by a certified technician.
During in-house monthly visual inspections, a unit may show damage, rust, or leaks. Below is a checklist for your own monthly fire extinguisher inspection:
Check that the fire extinguisher is in proper location, is visible, and is accessible.
Verify that the fire extinguisher signage and labelling is clear and visible
Check the locking pin and tamper seal for damage.
Confirm that the pressure gauge shows adequate charge.
Look for damage to the hose, nozzle, and body – rust, dents, corrosion, tampering.
Check the service date for professional inspection and maintenance. A certified inspection must occur once every year.
Record inspection date and name on the inspection tag in the monthly columns.
